Pocket Change Collection for the Grand River Greenway

Scouts and Families, here is your opportunity to contribute to the Grand River Greenway, which is the boardwalk that will eventually run from Mill Point Park to Leonard Street! Please bring in your loose change to our next troop meetings. Even a small amount can make a huge difference in our community!

------------------------------------------
Metalworking Badge Final Requirements

Scouts will need to attend ONE of the sessions to finish up the requirements. Scouts who visited the blacksmith and made their projects should bring their completed project (painted) and their sketch to the session if they have not presented them already.
* * If you did not visit the blacksmith but are interested in completing the badge, please see the emailed newsletter before signing up.

Please see the emailed newsletter for more information.

I will try to keep it to an hour & a half, depending on the number of boys present. 8 boys may take closer to 2 hours. Please bear with me on the lengths as this part is kind of new. I will need at least 2 parents to stick around (more is fine). Sign-up will be at this week's meeting or see the emailed newsletter for more information.

------------------------------------------
Eagle Project

One of our scout's Eagle Project is building shelves and organizing the prop room for the SLHS Theatre Department. He would like to have two to four boys help with fundraising before the play performance next Thursday, Friday and Saturday (April 28th-30th). He needs boys that will not be afraid to ask for donations as this scout has to raise over $1,000 for his project!

Time for this is 6:15 to 7:00pm. You will get service hours for this help! Please see the emailed newsletter for more information.

------------------------------------------
Help is Needed - Planting Trees in Central Park

Spring Lake's Rotary purchased 40 trees last year and needs help planting them in Central Park. They are looking for a few good scouts to help on Saturday, April 30th - 11:00am -1:00pm @ Central Park, Spring Lake.

There will be some shovels provided, but you might want to bring one along.

Upcoming Eagle Ceremonies

May Hike– May 13th -15th

The older scouts will do an overnight 20-mile hike beginning on Friday evening and ending Saturday afternoon.

Younger scouts will participate in a shorter 10-mile hike along the Manistee River. This will be just a day hike so Scouts will only need a day pack with at least a Nalgene water bottle and mess kit.

All Scouts will camp out Saturday night and canoe down the Manistee River on Sunday. The canoe trip is about 4 hours putting the Scouts return time at about 5:00p.m. that Sunday evening.

Cost: $60
