UPDATES AND REMINDERS

COURT OF HONOR UPDATE -- OFFICIALLY MOVED TO WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14TH

Due to a track team meet, Troop 14 is changing the Court of Honor ceremony from Tuesday, April 13th to Wednesday, April 14th.

Current Court of Honor information

Location: Grand Haven Elks Upstairs Ballroom. Located at the corner of Third/Franklin in Grand Haven.

Taco Bar Dinner from 6:15 PM to 6:50 PM

Ceremony on Wednesday, April 14th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Admission: $2 per person, Under 5 = complementary

REMINDER -- SWIMMING MERIT BADGE

More than 20 boy scouts attended Monday night's meeting at the Spring Lake Aquatic Center for the Swimming Merit Badge. They learned how to tread water, throw a lifesaver and use their clothing as a flotation device. They also raced Mr. Brower and got to spend some time in the pool.

If your scout attended Monday night's meeting at the Spring Lake Aquatic Center and wants to complete the Swimming Merit Badge, they also need to:

*Write a paragraph explaining why swimming is a good physical activity

*Compile a swimming training schedule (3 times week for one month and include distances for each day)

REMINDER -- GO GEAR DISCOUNT AVAILABLE UNTIL SATURDAY

On Tuesday, Troop 14 went to Go Gear, where Paul, one of the store owners, gave an excellent demonstration on the types of backpacks, sleeping bags, hiking boots and other fun stuff available for campers and hikers.

Go Gear has extended their 15% discount for scouts until this Saturday, so there's still time to buy water wicking socks and other for this coming year.
