NEED TO FINISH YOUR COMMUNICATIONS BADGE?
One of the requirements for this merit badge is to attend a government meeting and report on a difference of opinion that is expressed.
Tomorrow (Monday) would be a great opportunity to do this, as there will be a citizen speaking against the proposed Spring Lake Dog Park. The Parks and Rec board have suggested trying to get as many people in support of the proposed park to attend.
If your son would like to complete this requirement, or he (and your family) would like to show support for the proposed dog park, please attend the meeting at Barber School, 7pm, Monday. Scouts are asked to be in uniform.

If you are an adult and plan on attending Summer Camp, you must have a clearance through the State of Michigan. This form is the DHS form. These can be accessed through the GRFC website.

Merit Badge Book Collection
Anyone who has a merit badge booklet from the Troop's collection is asked to bring it to next week's meeting. The borrower can take the book back home after the meeting. The librarian needs to label Troop books and insert a checkout pocket in each booklet.

What is it: A day where Scouts can knock out multiple badges in one day.
WHEN: Saturday, March 10th, 2012
WHERE: First Reformed Church of Holland, 620 State Street, Holland, MI 49423
As an update to the flyer for the Merit Badge-O-Palooza, there are 2 additional Merit Badges available:
First Aid Merit Badge will be an all day course with the pre requisite of requirement 2d
Scouting Heritage Merit Badge will be an afternoon session with the prerequisite of contacting the counselor, Harrison Bodrie at 616-502-7134 a week or more in advance (he will go over what the boys need to do and bring).

Scouts and their families are cordially invited to attend the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for two of our scouts on Sunday, March 4 at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven.
The ceremony will start at 3:00 PM. Scouts are asked to arrive by 2:30 PM in full class A uniform.
There will be a reception immediately following in the church lounge.

Scout elections went smoothly. Congrats to all of our new leaders!
There will be a campout at Camp Gerber from March 23rd-25th. Scout leaders are asked to go to attend a leadership training. This is required for leadership credit.
